There are moments when stepping away from the routine is also part of moving forward as a team.
On 17 and 18 September, we celebrated a new edition of Etecnic Days, two days designed to bring us together outside our usual work environment, spend time together and continue strengthening what unites us as a team.
This year, we swapped meetings, computers and projects for two very different settings: PortAventura and Infinitum. Two days with different activities, but with the same goal: to enjoy time together, get to know each other better and create spaces where we could share new ideas.
A first day to enjoy together
The first day had a clear protagonist: PortAventura.
On Thursday we set routine aside to enjoy a much more relaxed day, full of rides, laughter and shared moments with colleagues we don’t always get the chance to see in our day-to-day work.
With no meetings or work activities, the goal was exactly that: to have a great time and enjoy being together.
From play to ideas
On Friday, we changed both the setting and the dynamics. We headed to Infinitum for a day focused on sharing ideas, working as a team and tackling some of Etecnic’s challenges together.
We started the day with a talk by Jorge, which gave us the extra boost we needed to approach the final stretch of the year with energy and face the coming months with shared goals.
Then it was time to get to work with an activity organised by the Software department. Divided into teams, each group had to choose an internal Etecnic challenge and work on it throughout the day to turn it into a real proposal offering a possible solution.
But getting there was not going to be that easy. Throughout the activity, the teams had to overcome different intermediate challenges in order to keep moving forward, putting their creativity, collaboration and ability to find solutions together to the test.
The day ended with the presentation of each team’s proposals to the rest of the group. After the presentations, it was time for the jury’s final verdict and to find out which team had won.
Beyond the final result, the activity gave us the opportunity to share perspectives across departments, work with different colleagues and, above all, turn real problems and needs from our day-to-day work into concrete ideas and proposals to continue improving Etecnic.
The best ideas also happen outside the office
Etecnic Days are an opportunity to do something that is not always easy in our usual work routine: pause, come together and spend time as a team.
This edition brought us plenty of laughter, conversations, challenges and, above all, new ideas. Two very different days that reminded us that having fun, sharing and learning are also ways to keep growing together.
We are taking all these moments with us, along with a few photos to remember them by, until the next Etecnic Days.
