The MOVES III Plan is extended to install charging points and purchase electric vehicles
The MOVES III Plan, integrated into the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, is a subsidy program that promotes electric mobility in Spain. It offers aid for the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of charging points, laying the foundations to achieve the PNIEC 2021-2030 objective of putting 5.5 million electric vehicles into circulation by 2030. With this, progress is being made in the decarbonization of the transport sector, and a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transition is encouraged.
The decision, made in extremis before the end of the year, aims to extend the deadline until June 30, 2025, allowing the continuity of aid for the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, as well as for the installation of charging points. This extension was approved at the last minute, since the previous plan was ending on December 31, 2024.

Conditions remain the same
The Official State Gazette (BOE) has announced the extension of the validity of the MOVES III Plan subsidies, for the purchase of electric vehicles as well as the installation of charging points, until June 30, 2025. You can consult the information in this article.
Infrastructures must be capable of supporting smart charging functionalities
Smart charging is the optimization of the charging process, in which the energy supplied to the electric vehicle is adjusted in real time or deferred. This is achieved through a management and control platform with OCPP, such as EVcharge.
Likewise, the amendment to the RDL requires that the nominal intensity of “in situ” electricity production shall not exceed the nominal power or maximum refueling capacity of the charging infrastructure to which it is connected. According to ministry calculations, it is estimated that these modifications “affect less than 2% of the files.”
