This Friday, December 5, Etecnic Movilidad Eléctrica participated in the first edition of EnerHub Reus, the congress on energy transition held at FiraReus Events and promoted by the Reus City Council through the municipal company Reus Energia, with the support of public and private entities.

The event recorded a full house, highlighting the sector’s growing interest in spaces for meeting, debate, and innovation around energy, sustainable mobility, and the new technological models driving decarbonization.

It played a prominent role in the ENERHUB congress, where it actively collaborated and participated both with its own stand —showcasing the payment totem, EVcharge solutions for energy management, and the new Smart Pricing project— and in the central roundtable of the program, titled “Decarbonization in the industrial sector and transport: challenges and the transport: challenges and future”.

The session, moderated by Irene Larroy, featured the participation of Ferran Menescal (AEDIVE Catalonia), Albert Ginestà (Bettergy), Oriol Juncadella (FGC), and Jorge Ríos (Etecnic). Each speaker answered two questions: one focused on their area of expertise and a second regarding their vision of the future.

A roundtable analyzing the great challenges of decarbonization

Albert Ginestà (Bettergy): CAES solutions for the industrial sector

Ginestà addressed the potential of CAES (Compressed Air Energy Storage) as an advanced energy technology for decarbonization in industrial environments, being the only speaker focused exclusively on this area.

Oriol Juncadella (FGC): Railway innovation and energy transition

Juncadella presented the most innovative projects of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, such as autonomous driving, the DUAL system, and the new TORGO electric vehicle in the Núria Valley, which symbolizes the commitment to cleaner railway mobility.

Ferran Menescal (AEDIVE Catalonia): Current state and evolution of electric mobility

Menescal offered a global overview of the growth of electric mobility in Catalonia and Spain, as well as the challenges related to infrastructure, market penetration, and regulation.

Etecnic’s vision: technology and sustainability as the engine for new business models

Under the title “Technology and sustainability: new business models to boost electric mobility in the transport sector”, Jorge Ríos, CEO of Etecnic, presented a deep reflection on how technology is transforming electric mobility and transport decarbonization.

10 years of experience leading charging ecosystems

Ríos highlighted that, after a decade developing comprehensive solutions for electric charging, Etecnic has moved from managing charging points to managing complete energy ecosystems, where:

  • charging is smart and connected,
  • renewable energies become a key piece,
  • power management is based on prediction and efficiency,
  • and digitalization provides precise decision-making.

Smart Pricing and new business models

One of the most notable contributions was the concept of Smart Pricing, a model that adapts the charging price based on:

  • energy availability,
  • the use of renewable energy,
  • demand forecasting,
  • and the infrastructure manager’s goals.

This system reduces costs, optimizes resources, and improves the economic viability of electric transport, especially in public and private fleets and heavy transport.

Ríos also stressed that this approach opens new business opportunities: smart billing, advanced services for fleets, consumption optimization, and a more efficient operation of networks.

Current challenges and future opportunities

In his vision of the future, he highlighted four major challenges:

  • the need for a more robust and scalable infrastructure,
  • the increase in energy demand,
  • the optimal management of power levels,
  • and the transformation of user habits.

Even so, he pointed out that the combination of technology, renewable energies, and smart management will turn electric transport into a sustainable, efficient, and profitable model for cities and businesses.

A stand showcasing Etecnic’s most innovative solutions

In addition to the roundtable, Etecnic presented at its stand:

  • the payment totem for charging stations,
  • the EVcharge solutions for energy and operational management,
  • and the new Smart Pricing project, which represents a step forward in the optimization and profitability of charging infrastructures.

Etecnic’s participation has consolidated its positioning as a leading company in innovation, digitalization, and charging network management at a national level.
