Electric mobility in Spain receives a new boost with the launch of new public subsidy programs aimed at both individuals and companies, as well as infrastructure operators. The Plan Auto+, the new MOVES Corredores, and the MOVES Flotas Plus program have been launched with the goal of supporting transport decarbonization and the accelerated rollout of the charging network.

These initiatives are part of the Plan España Auto 2030, which aims to consolidate a sustainable, competitive mobility ecosystem aligned with European climate targets.

Plan Auto+: 400 Million Euros to Accelerate Electric Vehicle Purchases

The Plan Auto+ will have a budget of 400 million euros in 2026 in direct subsidies for purchasing vehicles, after having already mobilized 1,700 million euros through the Plan MOVES in recent years.

One of the main novelties is that these subsidies will be managed directly by the central Government, rather than by the autonomous communities, with the objective of speeding up procedures, standardizing criteria, and ensuring funds reach families and businesses more quickly.

MOVES Corredores: More Charging Infrastructure on Highways and Charging Blind Spots

The second major priority of the Plan España Auto 2030 is charging infrastructure, featuring the launch of the new MOVES Corredores, backed by 300 million euros.

This program aims to deploy charging stations in so-called “blind spots”, especially on roads where there is currently insufficient coverage, thereby complying with the European AFIR (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation).

AFIR and Accessibility: A More Inclusive Charging Network

The AFIR regulation establishes minimum requirements for power, coverage, and universal accessibility across the public charging network, ensuring that anyone can use charging stations easily, transparently, and without technological barriers.

In this context, solutions like the EVcharge payment totem facilitate regulatory compliance by enabling:

  • Direct payment with bank cards.
  • Use of the charging point without requiring registration or applications.
  • Greater accessibility for all users, including visitors and occasional drivers.

Additionally, the licenses and permits required to install charging points have been significantly reduced, and a single location website, the REVE Map, has been launched to centralize information on the public network.

Applications can be submitted via the IDAE electronic office from December 23, 2025, until February 10.

Thanks to this set of measures, the public charging network over 43 kW has grown by more than 50% in the last year.

MOVES Flotas Plus: Comprehensive Electrification of Corporate Fleets

The MOVES Flotas Plus program is a new initiative by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), managed centrally by IDAE, and funded with 50 million euros from the European NextGenerationEU funds.

This program takes over from previous calls and expands its scope to facilitate the comprehensive transformation of corporate fleets operating in more than one autonomous community, through a national single window.

What Does MOVES Flotas Plus Promote?

The program supports projects that advance zero-emission mobility through:

  • Acquisition of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
  • Incorporation of electric cycles for last-mile delivery.
  • Retrofit or conversion of combustion vehicles (M1 and N1) to electric.
  • Charging infrastructure and intelligent fleet management systems.
  • Feasibility studies and associated training.

Projects must include a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 500 vehicles, and take place across at least two autonomous communities or in extra-peninsular territories.

Subsidy Amounts and Conditions

Grants are non-repayable and can reach up to:

  • Up to €4,000 per M1 vehicle (with scrapping, for SMEs).
  • Up to €5,000 per N1 vehicle (with scrapping, for SMEs).
  • Up to 40% of the eligible cost for infrastructure, management, retrofit, or studies, extendable to 50% for SMEs.

The execution period for the projects will be 18 months, extendable to 24, and the option to request a 100% advance on the subsidy is available, subject to providing a guarantee.

Applications can be submitted via the IDAE electronic office from December 23, 2025, until February 10.

A Key Boost for the Electric Transition

With these new subsidies, Spain reinforces its commitment to an accessible, efficient, and well-distributed electric mobility, accelerating both EV adoption and the rollout of charging infrastructure.

At Etecnic, we continue working to support administrations, operators, and businesses in this process, offering smart, accessible charging solutions aligned with European regulations that facilitate the sustainable growth of the electric mobility ecosystem.
