Once again, Etecnic and EVcharge were present at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025, held in Barcelona, the leading international event for urban innovation.
During three intense days, thousands of visitors stopped by stand D50, where we presented our latest solutions in smart charging infrastructure management, renewable energies, and technological innovation for electric mobility.

This year’s edition reaffirmed an unstoppable trend: the cities of the future will be smarter, more sustainable, and more connected —and electric mobility will play a key role in that transformation.

Juanma Pérez, Business Unit Manager de EVcharge, ofreció una ponencia en el stand de la Generalidad de Cataluña, donde presentó el nuevo proyecto de Smart Pricing. Durante su intervención, explicó en detalle los fundamentos y objetivos de esta iniciativa, basada en un sistema de precios dinámicos que aprovecha la generación de energía solar y las capacidades de la inteligencia artificial.

Jorge Ríos, CEO de Etecnic, participó en la mesa redonda “Enchúfate al futuro” organizada por Endolla Barcelona, donde expuso su visión sobre cómo debía evolucionar la red de recarga para seguir impulsando la movilidad eléctrica. También destacó la importancia de adaptar las infraestructuras urbanas para responder a una demanda cada vez más creciente y diversa.

El encuentro se centró en la electromovilidad y en la necesidad de adecuar las ciudades para dar respuesta a este crecimiento. Reunió a profesionales de referencia del sector energético, de la industria de la automoción y de la gestión de redes de recarga, que compartieron experiencias y estrategias para garantizar una red eficiente, accesible y preparada para el futuro.

EVcharge: technology for a global electric mobility

During the event, attendees were able to get an up-close look at the EVcharge ecosystem, our SaaS platform designed for operators (CPO), mobility service providers (EMSP), and companies requiring comprehensive management of their infrastructure.

Over these years, EVcharge has reached major milestones:

  • More than 64,000 tons of CO₂ avoided,
  • More than 19,000 charging stations operated,
  • Presence in three continents, serving thousands of users every day.

Smart Pricing: renewable energy and dynamic prices

Our Smart Pricing system was one of the main highlights at the stand.
We presented real case studies and live demonstrations showcasing how the integration of:

  • Big data,
  • and artificial intelligence, makes it possible to reduce up to 85% in operating costs and increase charging sessions by up to 250%.

EVcharge APP: a smoother user experience

Our mobile application also took center stage.
We showcased the latest updates that allow users to:

  • Find available charging points
  • Reserve them
  • Start and pay for sessions in two clicks
  • Check history and receive notifications

Additionally, we presented our white-label solutions, highly valued by companies looking to customize the charging experience for their clients.

EVcharge Totem: easy payment without registration

One of the most visited devices was the EVcharge Totem, our innovative payment system with an integrated POS terminal.
It allows users to:

  • Start a charge without needing an app
  • Pay on the spot
  • Use it in both urban and private environments

Its modern and versatile design drew significant attention, as it can easily incorporate digital signage, public information, or advertising.
