The electrification of parking spaces in office buildings is a key strategic point to continue the rollout of electric mobility and encourage the transition to electric vehicles. Identification of needs, regulations and subsidies<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Diagonal 22@ building<\/strong>, which has a community parking facility with 167 spaces<\/a>,<\/strong> required an electrification solution to support the transition towards electric vehicles for employees and users. The main challenge was to install the charging points without interrupting the operation of the parking facility, ensuring it remained fully functional throughout the execution process. In addition, the installation had to comply with the regulatory requirements of ITC SP 147:2024<\/strong> (a regulation driven by the Barcelona Fire Department) governing safety in charging installations, while also meeting the deadlines set by the MOVES III<\/a><\/strong> incentive program.<\/p>\n

The client’s challenge and objective<\/h3>\n

Vicky Pe\u00f1a,<\/strong> Deputy Director of the Communities Department at VM3Fincas, <\/strong>responsible for the electric mobility project on behalf of the client, comments:<\/em><\/p>\n

“For us, this project represents a great opportunity, and we have approached it with great enthusiasm. We believe it will mark a turning point, as it will allow us to offer charging services to many parking users, making their daily lives easier.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Regarding the challenge during the execution of the project, Vicky Pe\u00f1a<\/strong> adds:<\/em><\/p>\n

“The main challenge for us was ensuring that the installation process did not interfere with the use of the parking facility, as we could not interrupt the operability of the infrastructure. In addition, we wanted to make sure the project was aligned with local regulations and that the MOVES III subsidy was used efficiently.”<\/em><\/p>\n
