At a key moment for the development of electric mobility and the energy transition, innovation has become a fundamental pillar for leading change. At Etecnic – EVcharge, this transformation takes shape through concrete projects, advanced technology, and a clear commitment to disruptive thinking.

This commitment to innovation was recently recognized with the award for Best SME at the 5th edition of the International Mobility Awards — an acknowledgment that drives us to continue leading the sector with a forward-looking vision. On this occasion, we speak with Mauro Da Silva, Innovation Manager at the company, to learn about his vision, background, and the challenges he is leading from his position.

Interview with Mauro Da Silva

Tell us about your professional background. How did you come to lead innovation at EVcharge?

I am an engineer in Telecommunications Services and Systems, with a Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and another in Business Management. Additionally, I have trained in Artificial Intelligence through courses such as AI Fundamentals. I began my career in the automotive sector, especially in European projects related to autonomous driving and connectivity, which allowed me to develop various skills in product management and eCall certifications. This path has naturally led me to focus on innovation as a transformative axis, applying technological and strategic knowledge to drive new business models and projects with real impact.

What particularly motivates you about the world of innovation?

What excites me most is seeing how an idea can become a real solution that improves people’s lives or transforms the operation of an entire sector. Innovation goes far beyond technology — it’s an attitude, a mindset that allows us to question the status quo, anticipate challenges, and turn them into opportunities. It’s where creativity, strategy, and impact converge. I firmly believe that to innovate is to adapt, to anticipate, and to stand out. The companies that innovate are the ones that set the pace of the market — not the ones that follow it.

Mauro Da Silva emphasizes:

“To innovate is to adapt, anticipate, and differentiate. The companies that innovate are the ones that set the pace.”

Can you tell us about some key projects that you are driving at Etecnic?

A key project is Smart Pricing, a dynamic pricing system that uses real-time data to optimize charging station prices and encourage the use of renewable energy sources. It’s highly valuable because it not only addresses a technical challenge but also opens the door to more sustainable and user-centered business models.

We are also deeply involved in FlexAbility, a national project focused on flexible electricity demand management. Etecnic acts as a technology provider, adapting the EVcharge platform to operate in distributed environments and respond to signals from the electrical system. It’s a great example of how we help shape regulatory frameworks and emerging energy markets.

Finally, within the Misiones 2025 framework, we are working to develop smart energy solutions for new scenarios. We’re talking about load rotation algorithms, predictive charging planning… All of this allows us to expand our expertise in electric mobility into new areas and demonstrate adaptability and long-term vision

How do you envision the mobility of the future?

The mobility of the future will be intelligent, decentralized, and interoperable. It’s not just about moving from one place to another, but about an ecosystem where vehicles, people, and infrastructures are connected, make informed decisions, and optimize resources. Charging stations will become active nodes, data will guide users, and everything will be designed with sustainability and energy efficiency as the starting point — not just the end goal.

But it must also be fair and inclusive. We need to ensure that everyone has access to quality services, whether in cities or rural areas, and remove economic or technological barriers. At Etecnic, we contribute to this through applied solutions, public-private collaboration, and a user-centered approach.

What role does company culture play in this transformation?

A fundamental role. For me, innovation is not just a department — it’s a culture that must be nurtured. At Etecnic, we are committed to structured processes, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic partnerships. Leading innovation allows us to create tangible value — such as products and services — as well as intangible value: brand, talent, culture. These invisible assets are key to long-term sustainability and growth.

To innovate is also to take risks — to embrace change in order to evolve. And that’s only possible if we foster a culture that values curiosity, critical thinking, and the boldness to imagine a better tomorrow.

Mauro Da Silva embodies a clear and committed vision of innovation as a driver of real change. From his position at EVcharge, he leads initiatives that combine technology, strategy, and sustainability, anticipating the challenges of a rapidly evolving sector. His cross-cutting, human-centered, and collaborative approach defines not only the future of mobility but also the present of a company that strives to lead the change — not just adapt to it.

The mobility of the future isn’t something we wait for: it is designed, tested, and deployed — today.
